But the internet here isn´t. So I´m not gonna be updating much. Too much fun to be had!! Hope you all are having a great Christmas!!
Well the last post was about the cold. This is about the warm Nicaraguan climate. Yes, we are now here in Granada where it is in the 30´s. Nice. Time for an ice cold beer…
Skiing was so fun on Saturday! But brrrrrrr, it’s cold out now. And wow, is my body stiff.

Seems like our sacrifices to Ullr have been answered answered. 20 cm predicted overnight! So we are on the road to Revelstoke tomorrow for our first day this year on the slopes, and our first at Revelstoke Mountain Resort ever! Looks like it will be powder! Hopefully our legs will hold up for two days!
…that it’s all my fault for buying a Subaru. Sorry everyone.
We are hoping for some sweet December pow when we hit the slopes in Revelstoke this weekend, but that said, I have six more days at work until this…

…and this…
In case you were wondering, the new banner pic of the dude fishing was taken on our spring break trip earlier this year. It was taken on the Mekong River in Luang Prabang, Laos.
My buddy Rob has made some interesting (and very valid) points on his blog. He has a week-long challenge for you with reference to the Email monster. I do have to say that I actually do a bunch of the stuff that he suggests - I think I’m slave more to this blog and my hockey pools than Email… That said, Mich and I have been considering changing our shared Email address of about 7 years as the junkmail coming in has started to get outta hand.
Anyway, check out what Rob has to say, and perhaps take him up on his challenge by clicking here. Me, I’m gonna call him now.
I have to say that Mich and I are both having trouble getting into the whole Christmas spirit thing this year. That was okay with me when it was still November, but now with two weeks left at work before the holiday starts, and snow flying all over the province, perhaps it is time.
Darren’s gonna like this… we turned to a sure-fire elixir for what ails us - Eggnog! Mmmmm. All conditions for the purchase and consumption of eggnog have been met, so we are free to pour!

Results? It worked enough that I’m going to put up the Christmas lights on the house today. Couple that with a pond hockey game this weekend at Chris and Beth’s place and I think it might just get us there!!

There is a lot of talk about the Canadian political scene right now. Some are (still) making a big deal over the times when Dion stumbles over his words in English. A couple of points. First, we are a bilingual country. I think that Dion’s use of English is WAY better than Harper’s use of French. Second, if you read Dion’s speech, you will see it is a strong one. Let’s not get caught up in the superficial; to do so is to fall for a cheap parlor trick. Why not read what these men had to say tonight and decide for yourself.
Read Harper’s speech here.

Mumbai, Bangkok, the Canadian political landscape, Afghanistan, Iraq, the financial crisis… heck, even Christmas. There are a lot of things on our minds these days. But, let us not forget that the AIDS epidemic has not and will not go away. Today is World AIDS Day.
